Guilin Research Institute of Geology for Mineral Resources
 
    Our research Institute was set up in 1955 and moved to Guilin, the world famous scenic city in Oct. 1970. It was formerly named as Research Institute of Geology for Mineral Resources of China National Nonferrous Metal Industry Corporation.
　　There are 17 professors and 99 senior engineers, 10 doctors and 28 Masters in our research institute.
　Since the establishment of the research institute, more than 1,700 scientific research achievements have been received and more than 1,800 articles were published on magazines at home and abroad, nearly 100 books and magazines were published and issued, 240 science and technology progress rewards about province and ministry level were granted, among which, 20 belong to national level reward, including one grand reward and one first class reward.
　　Our research Institute is engaged in three fields (geology, environment and material) with 19 professions including deposit geology, mining geology, rock and mineral, experiment for ore forming mechanism, geophysics, geochemistry, remote sensing geology, isotope geology, engineering geology, mineral resources and environment protection, analyse and testing, information, superhard material, etc., holding a comprehensive technological advantage with a diversity of technique methods, mainly dealing with researches on basic geological theory, metallogeny, exploration method, comprehensive utilization of mineral resources, mineral material, environment protection and harnessing, undertaking national scientific research project tacking key problem, ministry level key project and development project.
　　The comprehensive power and running effectiveness of our institute is ranking higher (second to seventh), among more than 100 research institute in China geological prospecting industry, taking rank with Geological Research Institute of China Academy and Geological Research Institute of China, famous in China geological prospecting industry.
　　After assigned to Guangxi, in order to fit with the situation and for the requirement of further development, our institute reunified technique personnel and set up the main scientific research organization Research Institute of Geology for Mineral Resources (RIGMR) by integrating various exploration methods of geology for mineral resources, geophysics, geochemistry and remote sensing geology into a comprehensive one.
