Resources and Environment institute (REI) was built in recent year. The research objects of the institute are comprehensive utilization of resources and environmental protection. The main research fields are:
Research of comprehensive utilization of resources: For the demands of environment harnessing and using abundant second resources in our country, the institute is aimed at mining solid waste and “lean, thin and miscellaneous” dead ore, carrying out determination of useful compositions in the ore, technologies of comprehensive utilization in mine and environment harnessing and study of environment protection and ecological reconstruction.
Research of mineral materials: The researches are emphasized on studying the characters of novel environmental material products, modifying the non-metal mineral materials (e.g. zeolite, calcite, muscovite), developing new catalysts.
Study of isotope tracing system used in environment monitoring: Researching the isotope tracing system that can monitor urban environmental pollution, underground water percolation and reservoir leaking. Identifying isotopes in atmospheric environment.
Wastewater treatment: Developing the technologies and equipment in treating sewage of urban and oil field, undertaking projects of wastewater treatment.
